As a "person of faith" I hesitate a little on answering the "if you were God" question. But the question itself points out to me that even the most devout and experienced "person of faith" embellishes or accentuates parts of who God is, and minimizes or avoids other parts of who he is.
And sometimes sorting through the embellishments and minimizations in looking for the truth is a difficult process.
I was interviewed today "if I were Satan..." but I never got around to what I would truly do as Satan... I would not steal people's souls - that only wins a single person. I would steal their dreams -(aspirations, life paths, you get the context) because that can affect thousands of souls...
If I were God, I would have a web site. I would hold seminars and write best selling books. I would host a reality television show called, "A Day with Deity." I would put myself out there, make myself known, capture the attention of the masses. I would not cloak myself in mystery and paradox. It's not good marketing.
Would you be distant & transcendent or intimate & knowable?
"If you were God ..." But, I am God, better explained, God lives through me, cause it leads me to the question, Does God need men for something?
I do believe in a supernatural force and spirit (The God then), but about suffering and other stuff like hate, hunger and war, we expect to much from God to "come" and stop it when all the time the answer to this has been lying inside of us.
I have often thought that God would benefit from better publicity. You know, better spokespeople and more obvious signs and wonders. But then I go for a walk in my neighbourhood and I have a hard time imagining God being more obvious than He already is. I'd still work on my spokespeople. I mean they're great and they mean well, but the loudest ones don't even know me all that well. I forgot the questions.

If I was God, I'd probably reconsider giving people free will. That was a dumb idea I had. I didn't think through that one.
